Week #23

Hey everyone!
Well it was another quick week that passed. On Tuesday we had a mission conference with Elder Klebingat of the 70. He is a fun guy and really inspiring. He talked a lot about the pre mortal life and the creation and our life here on earth. It was about 6 hours long and he talked for about 5 and a half hours and our mission president and his wife and the AP's spoke for 30 minutes total. Also he was soooooo smart he could think of any scripture and quote it perfectly, he is a genius. It was really neat and I definitely felt the spirit as he talked.

On Sunday we went over to dinner with this fun family. They made us eat 1 sardine and it was okay but kind of weird. But I ate it so that's good! Then later we decorated gingerbread people and delivered it to people in the ward with the Spanish elders.

Week #22

Hey all,
This was a great week!

We got this awesome referral from Salt Lake for this lady named Christian. She has had a tough life but when we met with her she said "wow I love how you guys have so much love and energy for your religion"  She loved our message and we asked her if she would pray to know if this is true but she was like "yeah but I know it's already true." We taught her the restoration and she just absolutely loved it and wanted to give a Book of Mormon  to her son. I love when there are people like that who are literally seeking for the truth.

On Thursday it rained sooooo crazy. The road was like full of water - it was crazy! But we survived and it was fun!

On Friday I was able to meet this guy named Julio who has met with missionaries before and he loves our company and is super nice to us. I love how he says that as he has been meeting with us he feels great strength to overcome his struggles.

On Saturday we went on splits with the Spanish elders and went and tracted a street. That was fun because people couldn't say they don't speak English to me and we can deliver our message to them in their language.

On Sunday there was a baptism for a girl named Cloud, she is awesome. She was someone that I met just once but the elders had been teaching her and the sisters too. It was a neat service and I spoke on the Holy Ghost.
I had to speak in sacrament meeting also on Sunday on the Book of Mormon. That was okay but it was nice to have the talks over with.

Today we went to the institute building with the ysa elders and played ping pong and other fun games.

Have a wonderful day and week everyone! Hope you all have a great Christmas season! Love you all!

Week #21

Hey all!
Happy December everyone! This is always a great time of year!
This was a great week in my new area! I am in Azusa now. Fun fact-  azusa stands for a to z usa, so it's supposed to have everything from a to z in the USA but it doesn't really. This area remind me of my first area in Pomona and La Verne - it's very similar. This area has 1 college in thearea Azusa Pacific University. There is another college just outside our area called Citrus college. My new companion is Elder Jacobson and he is from Minnesota! He is a great missionary! We have been working great in this area.

On Wednesday we were tracting out an area and this drunk guy on the street came up to us and was saying a lot of crazy stuff. It was kind of funny because he was trying to teach us the restoration and how the Book of Mormon came about but nothing was making sense he was saying. He said he used to be a member but he was a crazy older guy! Anyway there are a lot of unique people in California which makes it fun to talk to different kinds of people.

We are teaching this one guy named John and he is doing great! He is the manager at a Jamba Juice close by and gives us really good discounts on things there. He has really grown his testimony even in just the short time I have been here because he has done the small and simple things like reading and praying daily. I know that when you do the small and simple things that you are able to grow greatly in your faith and gospel knowledge!

On Saturday we helped a family move and clean. It was fun but definitely pretty tiring! It was for a family in the ward that is moving to a different house but they will still be in the ward. They are super nice to us and love the missionaries! Then later that evening a lot of the missionaries went to help out with the parade in Covina which is a city just south of me. We wore safety vests and walked up and down the parade route and just patrolled the area. It was fun! It was neat to see parts of the parade.

On Sunday it was great to meet the ward! It is a smaller ward but is a great ward! It reminds me of my ward in Chicago because it's pretty small. Not a typical Utah ward. The ward members are great and super neat! A few people came up and said they had relatives in Kaysville.

Today we had a zone activity and we played basketball and it was fun! We have a pretty athletic zone which makes it fun!

Everything is going good and hope you guys are having a great December! Love you guys and love the gospel just as much!! Have a wonderful day and week!

Week #20

Hey all,
Well this was a short few days. Thanksgiving was really good! Thanksgiving evening we met a cool Armanian guy and they had extra ribs and gave me and my companion a lot. He is a really nice guy and really respects us as missionaries!

On Friday we went to visit a former investigator and found out that she had passed away but her daughter was there and we talked with her briefly. We talked about the plan of salvation and she really seemed super interested and invited us back later. The plan of salvation is really amazing and has blessed many people with that knowledge. It strengthens my testimony each time I share it with lots of people. Later that night we went to visit a guy named Carl we were teaching. We showed up and they were having Thanksgiving dinner so we ate with them. It was super good.

On Saturday we got transfer calls and I will be going to Azusa to finish training for a missionary. So that was shocking but it is fun moving around to different areas. I have really enjoyed La Crescenta and the members are super great! Then later I went to La Canada with the Korean elders for the day.

Sunday was kind of sad to say good bye to everyone. Especially Corey but the ward will take care of him.

Everything else is going good! Have an amazing day and week everyone!
