Week #71

Hey all! This was a great week!

Yesterday Gardenia got baptized and it went really well. After the baptism we had a serious feast! It was so good like meatballs, fried chicken, pizza, rice and lots of other things too.  I had to give the talk on the Holy Ghost and then me and my companion shared a video. I talked about how the Holy Ghost can guide us to people who need our help. I told about a time when me and my companion felt like we should walk in a certain area and ended up being an answer to a lady's prayer who need help with setting up her Holiday decorations.

We shared the Light the World message with our ward. I like how you can sign up for daily texts and reminders to help someone each day! Also there is a new Nativity video which is neat and would encourage you all to watch it. You can find it on lighttheworld.com or the gospel library app.

Have a wonderful week! And a great Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for. All is going well in Southern California! Love you all!

Week #69

Hey all! This was another great week!

We had an awesome visit and lesson with Gardina who is the niece of a member. We talked about the plan of salvation and it was a great lesson. I think that if I heard of the plan of salvation I would be pretty interested in learning more about our church because it answers so many great questions.

On Saturday we had a ward vs ward volleyball competition with everyone in the stake. It was super fun! The English ward had a lot of players so we played with the Samoan ward and that was fun! We actually had 2 teams for the Samoan ward and we played each other in the semifinal. It was a very intense game and my team was able to win and we took 1st place.

We also met with Joe this week and he has gone through some tough things but has turned to church and Christ and things are starting to get better.
I really like this scripture in Alma 44:4-
4 Now ye see that this is the true faith of God; yea, ye see that God will support, and keep, and preserve us, so long as we are faithful unto him, and unto our faith, and our religion; and never will the Lord suffer that we shall be destroyed except we should fall into transgression and deny our faith

When tough times come we just need to have faith and Trust in the Lord and things will turn out alright as we just keep moving forward. God won’t leave us alone we just need to have a little faith, as we have faith we also need to trust in Gods timing of things, but don't worry because blessings will always come, some just take time.

Have a wonderful day! And a great week! We are so blessed to live in this great country with the freedoms we have because of the many people who sacrificed so much for us. Happy Veterans Day!

Week #68

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great Halloween! I'm doing great and enjoying my mission!
Lately I have been watching the new Book of Mormon videos and they are so great! They really bring the spirit and help me understand it more! I love 2 Nephi 31:20
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

And 2 Nephi 33:3
3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.

As we watch and read the Book of Mormon we are able to remember the things that matter most in life and the things we should do to make it back home with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Love you all! Have a great day and great week!
Love,
Elder Toller
