Week #46

Hey guys Happy Memorial Day!

We were able to have Gore come to church on Sunday so that was really neat! He enjoyed church! Also me and my companion had to give a talk yesterday. It went pretty good! I spoke on prophets and the counsel they give us and focused on the temple. My companion talked about that similar topic.

On Friday we went to a Samoan graduation party! They had a pig and everything else! It was really fun and we had lots of food!

We had a great lesson the other day with Gore about President Nelson's talk called Come Follow Me. I really love that talk! He says:
"My dear brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ invites us to take the covenant path back home to our Heavenly Parents and be with those we love. He invites us to “come, follow me.”
He is always willing to help us as long as we are following him."

Everything else is going good! Have a great week and day! Love you guys!

Week #44 and #45

Hey all!
This was another good week!
Last week we went to the visitor center at the LA temple with Steven. It was neat. We also did confirmations. It really is a beautiful temple.
So I arrived to my new area on Tuesday and it's a neat area! My new companion is Elder Herzog from Bountiful, Utah.
This week we met a really neat lady named Gabby. We had a super neat lesson about the Book of Mormon with her and she really felt the power of the Book of Mormon as she has read it.
There are lots of great people here in this area! The members are pretty great! They love the missionaries and take great care of us.
We have been using that video a lot with members to encourage missionary work! So far people really enjoy it.

I really like 2 Nephi 9:40. It says: 40 O, my beloved brethren, give ear to my words. Remember the greatness of the Holy One of Israel. Do not say that I have spoken hard things against you; for if ye do, ye will revile against the truth; for I have spoken the words of your Maker. I know that the words of truth are hard against all uncleanness; but the righteous fear them not, for they love the truth and are not shaken.

I like the end part because if we are doing what's right we will seek the truth and enjoy doing truthful and righteous things. Also this is Jacob in the Book of Mormon and from the first part we learn to listen to the voice of the prophets and they will lead us to true happiness!

Everything else is going good! Have a wonderful day and a wonderful week!

Love you all!

Week #43

Hey guys! Hope all is going good! This was another fast week!

We are teaching someone named Destiny and she is doing good and progressing very well. She has come to church quite a bit and really enjoys it.

We had zone conference this week and that was fun! It was combined with a couple of other zones so that was fun to see a lot of famaliar faces.

On Wednesday we helped with a youth service project. We helped this lady clear out her yard so she can put in a new fence.

On Saturday we decided to contact a few former people who have been taught by missionaries before and we called this person named Alijandra. She said thanks for the call because her phone had not been working and she couldn't get in contact with us. She was really excited to meet soon and we will meet this week.

On Sunday it was a great meeting. Steven passed the sacrament and it was super neat! He did a really good job!

Today we have been doing the usual pday stuff and basketball. My companion is finishing an inspirational video and sending it to the church. It looks pretty good.

I was reading this quote the other day and I love it by Elder Anderson from 2 conferences ago.
"Look back, remembering that you proved your worthiness in your premortal state.  You are a valiant child of God, and with His help, you can triumph in the battles of this fallen world. You have done it before, and you can do it again."

I love this quote because it motivates us all! We all have done tough things to get here on earth and we can continue to do tough things with our experience here on earth.

Have a wonderful day and a wonderful week! You are all Awesome! Love you all!

Week #41 and #42

Hey all!
So this was a good week and so was last week. Last week for Easter Steven got confirmed and yesterday he got the priesthood. Steven is doing great and really has been enjoying church.

My companion is doing an inspirational video for church and that has been going good and we have found cool people to interview and help out. It will be neat when it comes out.

So the other day we met this guy named David and he is so cool. We taught him twice this week and both lessons went really good. We found him because we went to stop by his brother who used to be taught by missionaries, but his brother wasn't there so we met him and he is super cool and really feels the Spirit strong when he reads the Book of Mormon. He said he felt lots of relief and calm feelings when he asked to know if this is true. I love when others come to feel the Holy Ghost and the truthfulness of our message. It definitely helps to grow my testimony that this is true and we can feel peace and comfort in the message of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Yesterday we had Destiny come to church. She really enjoyed it and is progressing well. Then for dinner we went to a Spanish member's house and it was really good food and fun to be with the other elders.

Today we went up into the mountains as a district and that was fun. We played random games like 4 square and chicken taco. It was fun! We also saw a bald eagle and that was neat.

President Henry B. Eyring Testifies of Jesus Christ
This is a really neat video about Easter and about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I love this and am thankful for modern day prophets and apostles who are his special witnesses.

Have a wonderful day and a wonderful week!
