Week #59

Hey all! This was a good week! It's been pretty hot lately, especially when we ride our bikes in this heat!

We had interviews this week with our mission president and it went well.

The other day this guy drove by and said he had a question for us so he pulled over and talked with us for a bit. He said that the past few weeks haven't been too good and he wanted to grow his relationship with God. We talked about prophets and he thought it was super neat that we have modern day prophets and really wants to keep learning more. He is super cool!

We have been challenged by the area presidency to start meeting with members within the hours of 8-9 in the evening to practice teaching and strive to become better. So far it has been going pretty good and it is fun to teach the missionary lessons to members.

On Friday we had a super awesome lesson with a younger couple about the restoration and we brought a returned missionary with us which was a bonus!  The husband was super awesome and he asked really great questions and loved the message we shared. It's so true that when you share the restoration message the spirit is always strong and it always grows my testimony each time I share it with someone. We're going back to teach them again!

Yesterday we had Joe, Brian, Ernie, and another person named Ali at church!  It was pretty great! It was Ernie's first time at church and he got good fellowship by the members. We had a missionary who returned from the Philippines speak and he did a good job. He talked about the importance of having patience with everyone. The stake president counselor spoke and he talked about the importance of setting examples for those around us and our family members especially.

Today we're playing a dodgeball type game with the zone and it's pretty fun! Everything else is going great!

Have a great day and week! Love you all!

Week #58

Hey all! This was another quick week!

On Tuesday we had a ward barbeque at the park and it was great! Members brought some friends and it was great to meet them. Also our bishop is a really good cook! The ward does this often and they are awesome to bring people together in a fun environment!

On Wednesday we got a call from our bishop that there is someone moving things  to a storage unit near by and we went and helped him. He was cool, and afterwards we gave him a Book of Mormon and he came to church on Sunday!!

On Saturday we helped a young family move into our same complex! They were super awesome! Then afterwards they said we can come over and share a message with their family. We are going by on Friday.

We got a referral for a guy named Ernie. He is super cool! He said he prayed to know the true religion and a few days later he met the missionaries at the ice cream place and really was thankful for the message we share.

We met with Tony the other day and shared the Repentance a Joyful Choice inspirational message and it was really great! It talks about the joy and peace that comes from repenting and changing for the better. He is doing well and really is enjoying the scriptures.

Everything else is going good! It's still pretty hot here. Have a wonderful day and a wonderful week!

Love you all!

Week #57

Hey all! Well it was transfer time. So I got a new companion. His name is Elder Wahe, from Idaho Springs, Idaho. He was from the Long Beach mission before we combined. This week was really great!

We are still visiting with Brian and this guy named Tony. Brian is doing well and progressing well. He has an awesome desire to come closer to Christ and is super prepared for the gospel.

Tony is pretty cool. We found him by getting a refferal from other missionaries. We had an awesome plan of salvation lesson with him the other day and he loved it. It's super neat how the plan of salvation helps so many people who lose loved ones and the hope and peace it can bring into their life.

The other day we saw someone out waxing their new jeep truck and they let us sit in it and get a picture. He said he has had it for 4 days. It's pretty nice!

We had a lesson the other day with members about serving others and it was awesome! The member said that when someone serves her kids she feels super appreciative and thankful to that person who served her kids and likened it to how Heavenly Father feels the same as we serve those around him!
Mosiah 2:17  And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
Truly service helps you to feel better about yourself and feel love for others.

Yesterday we had Brian and a part member family at church. We also had this lady and her kids come to church for the 1st time in 3 years. It was so great they came, we had been trying for a while to meet with them and we met with them on Friday and then they committed to come to church. It was totally a miracle!  It was great to see them there. The members all welcomed them and invited them to our ward barbeque. This is the Lord's work and he will have his hands be apart of this to lead everyone to the truth and to come back into the fold.

A lot of people around here are starting school today, i'ts crazy how fast summer goes. If you are starting school good luck and enjoy this new school year! Hope you all have a great day and a great week! Love you all!

Week #56

Hey all! This was a great and fast week!

Hey here's a scripture I like talking about trusting in God. All we need to do is focus on what God wants us to do and everything else will work out for the best!
3 Nephi 13
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

We had the opportunity to give a blessing at the hospital the other day to a member. He wasn't doing too well, but after the blessing he felt really good and thanked us. It was a really neat experience, and it strengthens my testimony of the priesthood. I know that it is God's power and it truly can help everyone who asks for a blessing.

Saturday we did a lot of service. We did more digging for the guy who is getting a new water line and a sewer line. Then after that we helped a member move, so it was a busy day.

Yesterday we had a baptism for the Samoan ward and it was great! I love baptisms and there is always a special spirit there. It was a younger boy named Mason and he was super happy! Brian was able to come and watch and he really enjoyed it and said he felt super good! Brian is doing great and progressing well. He was also able to come to church and really enjoyed it.

Have a wonderful day and week! Love you all! You all are the best!
