Week #67

Hey all! Everything is going great! Sorry I'm short on time today. Here is a scripture I really like.
Jerimiah 33:3-
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

All we need to do is ask Heavenly Father and He we will bless us with what we need!

Have a wonderful day and week!
Love you all!

Week #66

Hey all! This was a great week!

This weekend we had the Samoan ward celebration of being a ward for 30 years. It was awesome! There was dancing, DJ and band, lots of great food!

Church was good this week! Brian came and enjoyed it. I liked how a high council man spoke and said he had been praying for missionary opportunities and he shared a Book of Mormon with a lady and she said," I know that church, I went there in my home country" and she thanked him and said that he made her day and week and her month!  I know that if we pray we will have opportunities to share the gospel or our beliefs with those around us.

Everything else  is going great! Have a great week! Love yall!

Week #65

Hey all! This was a great week!

Yesterday was a busy Sunday! My companion spoke in the English ward and then we both spoke in the Samoan ward. Ernie was confirmed during sacrament and that went great! He also got interviewed for the priesthood and all went well.
Then we had a Samoan baptism for a 9 year old girl and her 8 year old brother. That went well too and there was a great turn out.
We also had other people come to church and they really liked it.
I talked about going through trials with Joy. I love this quote by president Nelson:
“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.
“When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation … and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. … For Latter-day Saints, Jesus Christ is joy!

I also shared 1 Nephi chapter 17:1-3 which talk about how Lehi and his family were blessed in their journey for keeping the commandments and they felt joy because of their focus on keeping the commandments of God and staying focused on Jesus Christ. And they were all blessed because they did what God commanded them.

Have a great day and great week! You should all review general conference, it was really great! Love you all!

Week #64

Hey all!
This was a great week! And awesome weekend with general conference!

Well this weekend I felt like the main message was to strive to feel more Joy in your life -  The most important feeling to feel and what God wants us to feel.
2 Nephi 2:22-25
22 And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remained forever, and had no end.
23 And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.
24 But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

I also liked the talk by Sister Cristina B. Franco.  I liked how she talked about member missionary work. She mentioned how people try to ask others  what they know about the church to start a conversation. And trying to talk in natural ways with those around us and sharing parts of our testimony with them. Elder Uchdorf later mentioned that we should not be shy about our religion. Be bold and strong because the gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of lasting Joy!

Yesterday evening we had Ernie's baptism and it was so awesome! He invited his family who weren't members and they really enjoyed it. Then Ernie asked if he could bear his testimony at the baptism and it was so neat! He invited everyone to come closer to Christ and join His church and invited them all to his confirmation next Sunday! So awesome! I love baptisms and there is always a very special spirit there.
At the baptism me and my companion shared the video called Lift. Here is the link for the video:Lift video

It talks about the importance of serving those around us. We invited everyone to pray for opportunities to serve others throughout our daily lives and He will place opportunities in our path. God loves all His children and wants us to help spread His love with those around us daily. Then as we do that we are living the second great commandment to love our neighbors as president Nelson talked about!

All is going great here in Southern California! Have an awesome day and week!

Love you all!

Week #63

Hey all! This was another quick week!

On Sunday we were able to have a great turn out at church. Also Ernie passed his baptismal interview and is doing great!

A scripture I really like is 1 Nephi chapter 4:6-7. And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.
7 Nevertheless I went forth,

I really like how nephi wasn't totally sure with how he can accomplish the Lord's commandment but he trusted in the Lord and prayed for guidance from the spirit. And then he went forth with faith and he was able to accomplish the Lord's commandment. We have the opportunity to hear God's word this weekend through His prophets and apostles and I hope we will act quickly and faithfully to what they ask us to do to come closer to Jesus Christ.

Love you all! Have a great day and week!
