Week #29

Hey all,

This was another great week here in California!

We had a lesson the other day with John and he brought one of his friends and we talked about the Book of Mormon and when Christ came to the Americas and the lesson went really well. His friend enjoyed the lesson and we scheduled to meet with them this week again.

On Friday we had interviews with president and that went well. We also made this Book of Mormon marking thing for the scriptures to help answer common questions people have and that was awesome because that helped me  organize my scriptures.

On Saturday we helped a family move into their house and that was fun!

Sunday we had a great sacrament meeting and it felt pretty full in the chapel which is great. We have some great people in this ward which makes it awesome to work in this area. This new 2 hour block has brought back some people to church. We had a missionary come back who served in this  area and it was fun to talk to them and they gave us good people to stop by.

Earlier today we went up in the canyon and enjoyed nature and relaxed near the river. It is a nice day today.

Everything else is going great! Hope you all have a great day and week!

Love you all!

Week #28

Hey  y'all,

This was a good week and another fast one too! We found some great people to teach.

It rained for about 3 days straight here and it was crazy but now it's done and now it's really nice outside.

We are teaching this new lady named Joy and she was taught by missionaries in Anaheim when she used to be with her friend but now she lives up here and we have been teaching her. She is awesome! She said she always admired her friend who was a member of our church and wants to be like her.

We also taught Christina this week and she is doing good. We stopped by a couple days ago and shared a video called Because of Him and she really enjoyed that and it brightened her day. I really like that video and it has a sweet spirit about it. I love how everything we have is because of Him and it's all possible to make it back home because of Him.

We found this nice couple who had a baby a little bit ago and have been teaching them and they love the message we share about families. It was such a spiritual lesson and everyone could feel the Spirit really strong throughout the lesson.

The other day we were trying to find this referral and it was getting a little late but we started biking back and then a lady came walking down towards us and we started talking to her and found out it was her and she was super excited to see us. We were so glad we found her. She is great!

This week we were blessed to find great people and be able to have many prayers answered. I know prayer works and that Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to pray to Him so he can help is out throughout our lives.

Hope you all have a great day and week!
Love you all!

Week #27

Hey all,
Well it's been another fast week here in Southern California.
We are still teaching John and he is doing really good and is starting to read the scriptures more often and has seen blessings come from it.
We had a great church service yesterday. The talks were about repentance and trying to become more like the Savior.
Today we played basketball and that was really fun! Then we went up in the mountains and it was raining down here and snowing up there. It was sweet!

Hope you have a great day and week! Love you all and love the gospel too!

Week #26

Hey everyone,

This was another great week! Wednesday we taught this guy named John who is doing good and is super fun to meet with.
Thursday we were able to go to the Cheesecake factory with another set of elders and that was fun to celebrate the new year.
Friday we went with a ysa member for the whole day to go to lessons and tracting. It was fun to have a younger guy with us. We had a great day and taught many great people. We also got a small cake from this bakery place next to us to celebrate before we do a 40 day sugar fast.
Saturday we started the 40 day sugar fast our mission president"s wife enforced due to the number of sick missionaries. So we can't have chocolate, candy, desserts, or soda. I don't think it will be that bad. We will finish the day before Valentine's day. We also got transfer calls but I'm still staying in Azusa with elder Jacobson so it will be another great 6 weeks!

Sunday was good and the new meeting schedule worked out great! It's nice telling people to come to church since it's only 2 hours and we had about 5 less actives at church yesterday. It was a great sacrament meeting and lots of people bore their testimonies.

Today we went and played basketball for a while with another zone and we did really great! I hit a 3 pointer that was really deep! I felt pretty proud of myself and did a little dance when I made it.

I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and the Spirit I feel each time I read it. I know that it is true and I  love reading it!
Love you all! Have a great day and a great week!

These were some Christmas pictures we took up in the canyon where we live a few weeks ago.

And that's me taking the whole bowl of spaghetti at a dinner.

Week #24 and #25

Merry Christmas! Click this link to hear a ......Message from the call home on Christmas Day

Hey guys,
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. These past 2 weeks have been great. It was super fun skyping my family and talking with them! Christmas day we got fed by members breakfast and dinner. For lunch as a zone we got to watch the movie Coco and have food. It was fun!
Last night we had dinner with a member in our ward to celebrate New Year's.
Today we were able to go to the Rose parade and watch that. It was fun but really crowded. Some members in our ward saved us seats so that was nice. Alex Boye was in an African float and was singing and dancing. It was a cool parade. Then we went and played basketball with some other elders.

The work is going pretty good here in Azusa and we are teaching great people. Love you all and hope you have a great week!
