Week #75

Merry Christmas all! Hope you all are having a great day!

This week has been going great!

Earlier this week we helped set up a big tent for the city of La Canada as they built and set up a float for the Rose Parade. The float will be number 45 in the parade if you watch the Rose Parade.

We went to go help a member move things out of her garage into a storage shed and we saw other people coming with cameras and other things. We found out that there was a show where they remodel certain areas of houses and they were doing it to the member's house.  So we were in the film and the host and other interior designers came to  talk about the new design of the garage area. They also filmed some of it too. Anyway I think they film a lot of house scenes in this area with nice houses. I don't know the name of the show but we are going to see the member later and she will have more details.

On Sunday we had our Christmas program at church and it was so great! The spirit was very strong. The musical numbers were well done and the talk was great by the bishop. We also had so many members bring nonmembers to the service. One member brought  a whole family from Peru to the service. We had 3 people we we're teaching and everyone enjoyed it. Anyway it was a miraculous Sunday. I am amazed at as people come and see a sacrament service the Spirit and peace of Christ is really strong and they all enjoy that feeling.

Monday we went caroling as a district and that was really fun. We are also going to be caroling later tonight.

I was reading this scripture the other day and I really like it. D&C 68:6
6 Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

The most important message we can share is that Jesus is the  Christ and that He will always be with us as we testify of him and serve those around us. I really have come to love the Savior and know that he is the true Prince of Peace as His missionary. His peace is everlasting and is always worth sharing with those around you. It has been so great to share his gospel and help others feel of that peace he brings into our lives as we do what he wants us to do. This also ties into President Oaks message from the Christmas devotional about having peace in the world today. He said as we keep the commandments of God we feel peace. It was a really great talk and I encourage you to watch it if you haven't or review if you have. Click here to see it:

Week #74

Hey all! This was a good week!
I arrived in La Canada on Tuesday morning and it is a nice area.
My companions name is Elder Willden and he is from northern Colorado.

Thursday we had a great lesson with Linda who we are teaching.  She is a friend of a member and is really awesome. We taught the restoration and she had really great questions and loved the message we shared.

Saturday we had our ward Christmas party in La Canada 2 ward. It was fun! Great food and lots of performances! They had the high school choir and it reminded me of my high school choir experience.

Yesterday was a good day at church. We cover 2 wards, both in La Canada.  It was a great sacrament meeting for both wards. Both wards are pretty big and are really fun to be around.

I love you all! Have a wonderful day and a great week!

Week #73

Hey all! Happy December!
This was a good week! I got a little sick the first part of the week but I'm feeling better today!
Earlier this week a member took us to a cool seafood place! It was really fun and the food was really good!

Ernie, one of the recent converts is doing really good and he asked us to stop by his family and teach them. We were able to visit with his mom the other day and that went really well. I love when others bear their testimony about gospel truths because it helps everyone feel the Spirit more, especially new members.  He is doing so good and loves the gospel and church!

The other day we got transfer calls. I am going to be transferred to the La Canada area. I served in La Crescenta earlier in my mission and it is next door to La Canada, so it will be good!
Yesterday was kind of sad leaving the Samoan ward. They called me up at the last minute to give my testimony and I was so happy to be able to serve in that ward. I shared 2 Nephi 31:20 in my testimony and I talked about how no matter what circumstances we have or get put in to  we just need to focus on Christ and doing the things He wants us to do. Then eventually you will understand why you had to go through something or do certain things. The English ward Creekside is also a good ward too.

All is going well! And it's been raining here a lot lately, but it's nice because it feels good outside.
Love you all!
